How to Have the Best Holiday Parties in Flagstaff

Don’t Discount The Weather
Flagstaff can be cold during the winter, so keep that in mind when planning a Holiday Party. A beautiful outdoor space may be great when the weather is nice, but you don’t want to freeze your guests during their Holiday Party.
An exception might be having an outdoor party up at Snowbowl and making sure everyone dresses in their warmest winter clothes. So unless you know all of your guests will be prepared for a possibly snowy adventure, having an indoor venue would be the safest bet and most practical.

Sparkly or Dry
Many guests at a holiday party will be expecting adult drinks. If that’s the case for your group, make sure the venue allows or sells alcohol. If the venue sells alcohol you will not be allowed to bring your own in. If you have a dry group, probably going to a full bar wouldn’t be the best fit. Finding something where they have activities would be a better fit. If you have a mix of drinkers and teetotalers, having activities at the venue would probably be great for both groups.

Standing Room Only
Standing is great for shorter parties. But if the party is more than an hour or so having a place for people to sit is ideal. A mix of tables and chairs and tall bar tables can be a good use of space. That way people can choose to sit and chat or mix and mingle.

We Will Be Serving Up…
Can there be a holiday party without food? I guess it’s possible. But most people will be expecting at least hors d’oeuvres. If you have more than that usually depends on budget and availability. If you are short on funds, a potluck can be a good compromise.

To Give or Not To Give
Gift exchanges or giving out gifts are not requirement of holiday parties. But they can be a fun addition. Sometimes just throwing the party and getting together with friends, family or co-workers is enough of a gift. But if you really love seeing packages all ties up with string, you can consider a gift exchange game or if you plan ahead, a secret Santa gift exchange.
